Thank you to everyone in Aylesbury & surrounding villages

Santa is now preparing for his big night and before he left Aylesbury he asked us to make sure we thanked everyone who so kindly gave money. The Carol Float is a big tradition in Aylesbury and we are thrilled to be able to keep it going. We can only do so with the help of many people.

Most of the money raised will be distributed to local charities by the end of January. We''ll list the recipients on this website so do check back here early February.

What is Rotary?

One of the Rotary elves collecting money with Santa and his Carol Float outside Hale Leys was asked by a member of the public "what is Rotary". Here is the answer which is from the Rotary International website:

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

Santa is stuck in a snowdrift!

Our apologies for Santa not keeping to his published schedule of visits round Aylesbury. As you will have figured out, he has been stuck in a number of snowdrifts. The reindeers and elves with be doing their best to make sure he gets out and about as often as he can.  His progress will be advertised on this website.  Thank you for your understanding and support.

Maika Villarico gets our Rotary Young Leader Award

Maika works in the immigration department of Pickup & Scott's in Aylesbury and is looking forward to using the RYLA weekend run by RAF Henlow to develop her team working and communication skills.  She'll be spending time along with other young professionals, will be challenged by the variety of activity - and will have a great time!

We are looking forward to Maika telling us all about it when she gets back.

A previous RYLA candidate, Kevin Brook enjoyed it so much he has returned in following years to help out. Kevin is now an owner of the local print company, Fresh.
